Custom School Programs

While LITA largely offers more rural-focused independent language immersion programs in Spain during the summer, we do work collaboratively with a few high schools each year to design unique, custom language or cultural immersion programs for the school’s students during the academic calendar or summer months.

School Focus

Our customized school programs can be tailored to meet the requirements of a specific curriculum and calendar. LITA works with educators to structure language and cultural immersion experiences that align with the needs and expectations of the school. This includes designing the curriculum and itinerary, preparing students for travel, and ensuring a safe and outstanding experience. LITA’s Directors, Jordan Romm and Britt Shelley, will work with your school’s Spanish, World Languages, History, Art, or Music departments through all steps of the process to ensure all needs are met.

Custom School Programs

School Itinerary

Custom school programs are led by an experienced LITA team member, often one of LITA's Directors, and include support from school chaperones. Itinerary elements vary depending on the program's cultural and immersion focus laid out by LITA and your school's educators. However, most trips focus around more rural travel and include an in-country orientation; a central homestay component or small town experience including language classes, research projects, activities, and weekly excursions; backcountry adventures; and urban explorations. Our hope is for all students to return home having had a truly immersive, transformative experience and with a sense of global citizenship that will last a lifetime.
